first student conference
On Saturday, March 12th, 2005 VIS held its first Student CAS Mini-Workshop in order to introduce IB students to the power of the CAS software DERIVE 6 for use in IB internal assessment.
There were student presentations included in this workshop. It was geared toward grade 11 students, and our hope is that next year VIS will host the first international schools’ IB students’ workshop and conference.

Teacher workshops
Sign up now for the greatest and most cost-efficient Technology and Mathematics workshop in the UK, Mon 11th July - Weds 13th July 2005 at OUNDLE SCHOOL, Peterborough, UK.
This is the third year in a row that I am a workshop leader at this event, and it is indeed a marvelous opportunity to learn different software, such as Autograph – a graphing software, Derive – a computer algebra software, Excel, and geometry dynamic systems such as Cabrie and Geometers Sketchpad.
It is hosted in the lovely rural setting of the Oundle, Peterborough. This is the 11th year that Douglas Butler has offered this successful series of workshops.
